Sri.Dr.P. MOHAMED ALI
Founder Galfar & MFAR Group
[Civil Engineering (1964-67)]
P. Mohamed Ali, popularly known as Galfar Mohamed Ali is a non-resident Indian businessman from Thalikulam in Thrissur. He is the founder of Galfar Engineering and Contracting.The Oman Government has awarded "Civil Order Grade Three" to him for his contribution to the country.

Through his work at Galfar and his numerous social initiatives and projects, Galfar Mohamed Ali has received many accolades from both the Omani government and those abroad. He was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Science from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2001. In 2002, he was presented the Oman Civil Order award from the representative of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, for his contribution to Oman in the business sectors, as well as for his social and education initiatives. Then in 2004 from Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then Prime Minister of India, Dr. P. Mohamed Ali received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award, for promoting the honor and prestige of India. In 2013, he was honoured with the Pravasi Diwas, by the President of India for his contributions to the hospitality sector, as well as his support in developing the Cochin International Airport.This past year, he was awarded the Asian Business Leadership Forum Award (ABLF Award), for Business Courage 2013.
Sri.Dr. P Mohamed Ali Scholarship


In a commitment to supporting academic excellence, alumni members actively provide scholarships for students, encouraging outstanding performance and fostering a sense of community and shared success. Alumni offers Dr. P Mohammed Ali Scholarship. The scholarship winners are meritorious students who demonstrate exemplary levels of achievement in their overall performance during their course of study. The scholarship criteria take into account the overall merit and financial need of the students. An amount of Rs 20000/- is given to the students in two installments. A student is eligible for this scholarship, if he/she, Scores B- grade (70-79% marks) or above for all subjects, is  financially challenged, is not enjoying any other scholarship(s). Additional prizes or appreciations are given to students with best academic performance during PTA general body conducted every year.

   

   

Sri.P VIJAYAKUMAR 
Commandant of Indian Coast Guard(Retd.)
[Electrical Engineering (1983-86)]
     He joined Indian Coast Guard as an Electrical Artificer in 1987.During the span of 36 years he served as junior engineer, Assistant Engineer, Senior Engineer, Assistant Commandant, Deputy Commandant and Commandant of Coast Guard. He held prestigious appointments in Coast Guard Regional headquarters at Chennai, Mumbai & Andaman Islands.  He has trained more than 500 personnel in oil pollution response operation at sea.Apart from Electrical Engineering, he has additional expertise in marine oil pollution response operation.He represented Indian Coast Guard as a member in a High Level Technical Committee constituted by Government of Tamil Nadu to investigate oil leak at Ennore creek during flood caused by michaung cyclone. He spearheaded various technical projects in ICG such as Procurement of advance equipment, Indigenization of Marine equipment and streamlining maintenance philosophy of ship’s machinery.He was awarded prestigious President’s TATRAKSHAK MEDAL for the distinguished service to the Nation.He was awarded Commendation by Director General Coast Guard

Joint General Manager- Airports Authority of India(Retd.)
 [Electrical Engineering (1979-82)]
He is retired from Airports Authority of India. He worked in various levels JE, Assistant Engineer ( Assistant Manager), Manager, Senior Manager, Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager and Joint General Manager at several Airports in India. Goa was first station and worked there as HoD, Calicut was last Airport there also he was HoD. Other stations were worked as HoDs are, Cochin(old Wellington Airport) from which Agatti, Vijayawada, Aurngabad, Mangalore, Rajkot, Srinagar From which other stations like Leh, Kargil, Madurai, Tuticorin etc. He is now working as consultant for airport related hardware projects.

He is the founding director of APT Controls & Appliances Pvt. Ltd. Which is a high-tech company and a leading global manufacturer of power industry and domestic appliance technology, components and products. Their customers include Siemens, L&T, Alstom and other large and small industries in the same field.His longest service was in Hawkins Cookers Ltd., where he took active roles in expansion of their mother plant in Thane. He left Hawkins as Development Manager in the year 1988.

Abhilash S R, presently working as  Mechanical Engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory(BNL), USA.  BNL is one of the main national laboratories of US Department of Energy for research and development. The primary responsibility of Abhilash is to lead the development of sub-systems for new Particle Accelerator Facility.
